Creative Getaway 2009 - Laughter, Fun, Friends

Well our Creative Getaway for 2009 was a huge success. I am totally knackered though, slept in till 10.30am this morning. I let the kids stay home for a "welly"!! That's what I call it when we're not sick! It has been a lovely relaxing day together allowing me to get over my creative time away. I went to bed around 3am both nights while we were away & I wasn't the last to get to bed either. Us Scrapper's are just crazy at times!!

41 girls attended our Creative Getaway this year. Margaret, Cheryl, Naomi & I are getting together next week for dinner. We will be putting plans together to run two next year as we had a waiting list this year for girls to attend. It is so fantastic our Creative Getaway is so popular!! I can't wait till next year's.

We took our group photo (below) at the end of the weekend & half the girls had already headed off home. Below the photo I have added a list of all the girls who attended.

Blog War Day 1 - 3 Fluid Chalk

Fluid Chalk Blog War (4)

This weeks Blog War product is Fluid Chalk. Fluid Chalk is one of my favourite products, there are just so many beautiful soft colours to suit any of your craft projects to choose from. You can find them on page 77 - 79 of the current Kaszazz Product Catalogue. Link to the right of screen. ColorBox Fluid Chalk are gorgeous inks that stamp & blend like dye inks & dry quickly on most surfaces.

They can be purchased in a number of options: individually in 3 sizes, cats eye, mini & inkpad.

They can also be purchased in ColorBox Fluid Chalk Option Pads, these are a very economical way to add 8 gorgeous new colours to your collection! Each colour plate can then be lifted out of the palette for direct-to-paper application!

Also can be purchased as: ColorBox Fluid Chalk Queue, unique, multi-coloured, nested Cat's Eye inkpads! Stack & re-stack them to create your own colour spectrum!

& ColorBox Fluid Chalk Cat's Eye Sets, each set features a Stylus Cat's Eye Adapter Set & 5 Fluid Chalk Cat's Eye inkpads in a harmonious colour spectrum! The adapter snaps into the back of the Cat's Eye inkpads for colour blending & direct-to-paper techniques.

The card above is a "Wedding RSVP" I created. Friends of ours are getting married bare footed on the beach in December. Our shell border, shell & wave stamp were perfect for this card.

If you have any further questions regarding these 3 Fluid Chalk cards I have created please ask & check out what the other girls in the Blog Wars have been up to. Participants list to the right of screen.

Summer ATC's

Summer ATC

This month's ATC swap was Summer themed & it was so nice to think about warmer weather & all things brighter. The weather at home has been so miserable & my round trip to drop the kids to school this morning (which takes me an hour) there were so many up rooted trees from the "blowing a gale" windy conditions last night, we even had some hail.

Above is my ATC gallery folder, I don't think I have shown you it before? & below are the new ATC's I received at Team Training on Wednesday night. I love adding to my ATC Collection!!!!

Blog War Day 3 - Male Cards

Male Card

This card is a great way to use up some more paper scraps. It can be created in any colours & I found it very theraputic tearing the paper. I started with a piece of double sided sticky paper which I trimmed to size. After tearing strips of coloured scrap paper, I removed one side of the double sided sticky paper sticking each piece down one at a time. Once trimmed, I removed the other side of the sticky paper & adhered the piece to Bahama Bazzill. I stamped the plane on a piece of ivory cardstock, with Prussian Blue Fluid Chalk. Happy Birthday is also on ivory cardstock stamped with Ancient Page Coal Black. I used Chestnut as the base card & hung the edge of the Bahama over the Chestnut card.

I'm off to our KASZAZZ Monthly Team Meeting tonight. Our ATC Swap this month is "SUMMER" themed. I will be back tomorrow with a picture of all the new ATC's I receive. Come back & visit to check them out.

Kaszazz New Product - SMOOCH!

Friday I attended Naomi Elliot's Smooch Card Workshop. It was great to learn more about this new Kaszazz Product which was released in the July NEW Products flier. It looks like a bottle of nail polish. Comes in 8 different colours. Smooch is great for layering & can be used on paper, cardstock, glass & so much more!! The ink colours are pearlized & each bottle has a precision applicator to enable you to colour your creations & projects.

The colours I used on the cards below are, 70401 Siren, 70404 Azure, 70405 Pumpkin & 70403 Sugarberry. I have taken a close up of the rose to show you the shimmer kiss of colour "Smooch" gives to your projects. Please contact me if you would like to order any of these products. RRP $9.95.

Blog War Day 2 - Male Cards

Male Cards

Todays Male card was inspired by a card I saw in a magazine. The card I saw was created in Orange, Black & White. It came to me, I would never use that colour combination, so I thought I would give it a go.

I used a number of stamps..... all from our great Kaszazz Range of course :)  I collaged them, just kept stamping until I was happy with the look. I watermarked the postcard stamp on the orange bazzill. I distressed a piece of white cardstock by stamping it with coal black fluid chalkwalnut distress ink. I also used a blending tool with the walnut to give the aged appearance. "Grandfather" is from our 1651LN Family Names uncut (26) un mounted stamp set. This set covers all members of a family, you can check it out on page 127 of the Current Kaszazz Catalogue.

Blog War Day 1 - Male Cards

Male Cards

This male gift card I created with a piece of 4756 Map/Chocolate from the Scrapbooking Rustic Range. These are double sided papers, so the inside of this card also has the map pattern which is shown on the front. The stamp I  used is the 1700LH Tool Border. I have stamped it twice.  One image I trimmed & tore down the side to give a rustic effect. The second stamped image I cut out a couple of tools separately & adhered them to the front of the card. I have stamped "Congratulations" in gold down the side, but it hasn't shown up too well in the picture.

This card is very easy to make & is a perfect little creation to make from your "scrappy" off cuts.

Blog War Day 3 - 5 Embossing

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!! This is a catch up post for me today. Below is my other 3 cards from last weeks Blog War Challange - Embossing. I'll get them out the way before I post my first card for this weeks Challange - Male Cards. Hope you like them.

I also attended one of Naomi Elliot's workshops on Friday using the NEW Smooch product. I will show you those cards I created tomorrow, so come back & visit.

Embossing Cards

I first rollagraphed this card with 26152 Floal Florish & the 24005 Watermark Ink Cartridge. Then embossed the 4192KL Note Journal Stamp in red & stamped the daisy from the Spring time stamp set (9) with Ancient Page Coal Black around the edges. I punched 3 scallops & added a piece of red ribbon.

Embossing Cards (2)

Embossing Cards (3)

I embossed the 1875LI Chalk Leaves Large onto black cardstock with red embossing powder. Kaszazz has 27 different colours of embossing powders to choose from. I trimmed the card to size then added Distress Crackle Paint around the edge of the cardstock.

Distress Crackle Paint is a great way to add decades of distress to your creations in just one step - this acid free, non-toxic paint cracks as it dries! Perfect on cardstock, chipboard & more! Apply a medium coat for fine cracks & a thick coat for heavier cracks. Once cracks appear you can speed up the drying process with an Embossing Heat Tool.

I left my piece of cardstock to dry overnight, added a piece of red ribbon & then mounted it onto a black card. I have used TDC23722 Fired Brick Crackle Paint.

Embossing Cards (4)-1

Two of my favourite embossing powders at the moment are our 10028 Sterling Silver & 10029 Gold Sparkle, these powders have fine glitter in them & look absolutely gorgeous once embossed. I have used the Sterling Silver on this card above, these two colours are perfect if you are getting in early creating your Christmas Cards. Please contact me if you would like to order any of these products.
